FAQ

Questions runners ask before they join.

Short answers about what Roen is, how it trains you and what happens to your data.

Getting started

What is Roen?

Roen is an adaptive training plan for marathon and half-marathon runners. Instead of a fixed calendar written once, an engine recalculates your week after every run, missed day or bad patch.

Who is it for?

Road runners training for a marathon or a half marathon who want a plan that follows their real life. Plans for 5k and 10k races are supported too. It is in private alpha, so access is by invitation while we grow carefully.

How do I get access?

Leave your email in the form at the bottom of this page. We send invitations in small batches and email you a sign-in link and a 6-digit code when yours is ready.

Do I need Strava?

No, but it gives the best start. With Strava the engine reads your past runs to find your threshold and weekly rhythm. Without it you enter a recent race time and your usual week.

Which languages does it speak?

The site and the app are in English and Italian, and the coach answers in the language you write to it in.

Training

What happens when I miss a run?

The plan re‑solves around it. Roen does not cram the missed session into the weekend: it moves the work to the coming days that have room for it, so you keep the stimulus without spiking the load, and it explains the change.

Can I change a session or add my own?

Yes. You can move a session to another day, swap it for one of a similar load, or describe your own to the coach in a sentence. If it goes past the plan's limits, you can add it anyway and see what it costs the week first.

What if I feel pain or get sick?

Say so in your debrief. For pain, Roen first asks how bad it is; a sore or sharp answer protects the next days with easy, flat running. Illness or a few days off re‑plan the week. Roen is a training tool, not medical advice: for an injury that does not settle, see a professional.

What happens after my race?

You get a recovery block, then a maintenance block that keeps you running until you set your next goal. Your fitness and history carry over to the next plan.

How does the engine decide what to prescribe?

It uses training load, workload ratios, post-run pain checks and a goal readiness score built from Pace and Durability. The methodology explains each in plain language and cites the research behind it.

Your data

What happens to my Strava data?

Access is read-only and we never post to Strava. You can disconnect at any time and the activity data we imported is deleted within 48 hours. The privacy policy lists every provider involved.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. From Settings you can download a copy of your data and delete your account, which removes your sign-in and everything linked to it.
